Classic Cup...
For me a cup of coffee to-go in the Big Apple wasn't the same if it was served in anything other than one of these classic anthora cups designed by Leslie Buck. Mr Buck recently passed away at the age of 87 but left behind an enduring icon of the city. Read more here .

One of a series of illustrations I'm working on involving a young kid and his symbiotic relationship with his 'bad' hair. This one is called "Elvis and his bad hair get a time out".

Look Up...
It's always nice to come across a faded painted sign high up on the side of an old building. Many of these having out-lived the businesses they once advertised. Take a look at this video about some painters that are still doing building advertising the old fashion way- via the Daily Heller.
Here's a link to some old 'ghost signs'.

Bohemian Rhapsody...
Above are some Czech Easter eggs given to me by my Aunts, who would get them from some of their friends that still carried on the craft of etching Easter eggs here in the States. The eggs were hard boiled, then dyed and an outline was scratched in. Working from that outline the final 'highlight' art was etched in. Being a very fragile canvas it was possible to get well into the design only to hit a soft spot and have the shell break. The common response to this (besides probably a word or two of frustration) would be to peel away the art and eat the egg before moving on to the next oval canvas. The finished eggs become hollow after time and, like the one above, sometimes accidently break.
Happy Easter.
