Book Art...

There's so much to like about these paintings by Stanford Kay. The geometric compositions created from bookshelves and the bold textures are what first caught my eye. See more work here.

No Bull...

The surreal paintings and collages by the late Spanish artist Antonio Saura recently caught my eye. His bullfighting series in particular reminded me of Dr Lakra, a contemporary artist who also paints on printed ephemera.
Click here,  for more of Saura's work, including paintings, illustrations and sculpture.

Hopper in Mexico...

While visiting Saltillo, Mexico in the 1940's  Edward Hopper painted these beautiful rooftop scenes of the town. Illustrator extraordinaire Federico Jordán recently posted many of them, and also included photographs of some of the sites as they exist today.
Thanks for sharing these online Federico.
