Bäst
I'm only aware of a small portion of the street art that's out there, but one artist that I like a lot is Bäst. Along with the rawness of his work I also like his use of mid- century pop culture and its icons which adds a slight layer of nostalgia to it. Take a look at more here.

Modern Digs...
Looking for a nice mid-century modern home? This might be a place to start. For a couple of smaller and more affordable alternatives check out these - Versadome , Modern Cabana.
A classic look at living modern.

Still Life...
The photos above are from a great book called Still Life (1983) that Diane Keaton and Marvin Heiferman put together. It's full of color saturated Hollywood stills from the 50's/60's. Cover art (detail at top) is by one of my favorite illustrators- Mick Haggerty.

Hi Gloss...
The labels on these retro cans definitely make spray painting things look like fun. Did de Bois unknowingly foresee the phenomenon of graffiti art with it's beret sporting aerosol artiste pictured on the label?

Now Showing...
This stylish faux title sequence for "A Kiss From Tokyo" was used as a clever way to promote the book Seductive Espionage: The World of Yuki 7. View other movie titles here!

Mug Shots...
I'm not sure when I started picking up coffee mugs, but I've managed to fill up a few boxes with them. The mugs all bear imprints representing things like past conventions, long ago taken trips, or company employment. I've started taking some out to display on my Weekly Mug Shot site. I add a new mug every week.

Whether it's an abandoned amusement park or a boarded up hotel there's an eerie intrigue to abandoned structures. This site takes you inside a few.
Thanks for the link Elisa

Cuban Lights...
Above are a couple of nice cigarette package designs (with vintage cigs still inside) that my folks brought back from Havana in the 50's. Unfortunately the lady in red on the second box fell victim to the impartial guillotine of the packaging seal.
Here's a cool video by Prodigy that brings some discarded cigarette boxes to life.

Spam Blocker...
This is a piece I did a few years ago for an article on email spam blockers. With soccer being in the news so much the past few weeks I was reminded of it and pulled the art out of my archived files. The illustration was revised a little, including taking the email platform logos, that were now mostly outdated, off of the jersey.
