I found this treasure in the basement of a used bookstore in upstate N.Y.. Published in 1939 by McGraw -Hill, it's full of vintage border designs, and also includes tips on using them to make your advertising type 'more beautiful'. A steal for 4 bucks.
Crossing the Woodrow Wilson Bridge on recent trips to Washington and Baltimore this streamlined draw bridge control tower always grabs my attention. Looking like a well preserve Norman Bel Geddes creation this deco inspired tower is actually part of a new (replaced) bridge project that was completed in 2008.
